Get ready for big smiles! All students will be photographed individually. No payment is required on picture day.
Approximately two weeks after picture day, a proof will be sent home with your student. The proof will include package information as well as ordering instructions.
Please avoid wearing shades of green (a green screen will be used so an option of picture backgrounds can be selected when photos are printed).
Parent Connections is a support group for parents and caregivers. Meetings are free, and no registration is required. Parents and caregivers of children who have either identified disabilities or suspect their child has a disability are welcome to attend.
What exactly is Evanston CASE? Evanston CASE is a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing support, community and advocacy for families affected by disability. CASE is an acronym, and stands for Citizens for Appropriate Special Education.
Who is Evanston CASE for? CASE is for any parent or caregiver whose child is impacted by disability or mental health issues – or if you suspect your child has such issues. Some common examples include, but are not limited to Autism Spectrum Disorders, Sensory Processing Disorders, ADHD, Dyslexia, Learning Disabilities, Depression and Anxiety, and children who are medically complex.
How can CASE help me? CASE provides a community of peers who share the same or similar parenting experiences. We offer a variety of services in addition to our Parent Connections Support Groups. Over the past three years, nearly 300 people in the District 65 community have participated in SEED (Seeking Educational Equity & Diversity) seminars where they experienced authentic peer-led conversations and learning. This year we will continue to offer opportunities to participate in SEED at a variety of times to fit your schedule.
SEED is a monthly three-hour seminar with the purpose of creating a circle of adults who will come together to learn, listen, think, debate, and build a stronger more equitable community. This seminar is unique in that everyone is welcome. We ask that you leave your “title” at the door as we journey together to deepen our understanding of ourselves, expand our knowledge of the world, and become leaders in making our educational community more equitable for all students.
Our goal is to continue to plant SEEDs and have as much representation as possible. We hope that you will take the time to join in this journey with us. Our experience working with SEEDlings in our district has been rewarding and fulfilling, helping to build personal and professional relationships with educators and families across the district to create change for all students. Here’s what some prior K-8 SEEDlings have said:

“Thank you for bringing this very important work to D65. I have worked in this district for many years and we have discussed inequity in a variety of ways, yet this training, although it didn’t give me answers, SEED gave me the tools to dive deeper, increased my awareness and made me more accepting of others.”

Join in celebrating the start of a new school year in District 65 and meet new interim leadership, Dr. Phil Ehrhardt and Dr. Heidi Wennstrom, as well as district administrators and board members! We will also have games, music, and arts and crafts with the Evanston Arts Center!
