It’s hard to believe, but cooler temps are on the way! Please consider donating gently used (or new if possible!) coats, gloves, hats and scarves. ESCCA is also in need of gently used clothing that meets these guidelines. All donations will be offered to D65 children in need through ESCCA’s shop at JEH. Items can be dropped off at the drive-up bin on the west side JEH (1500 McDaniel) or in the bin at Walker, just inside Door 5 at the cafeteria entrance. You can also support ESCCA by shopping ESCCA’s Amazon Wishlist.
Interested in volunteering at least 4 times a year with ESCCA? We are in need of a few more Supervisors (college age or older, see flyer) and provide training and a flexible schedule. Email maryshawcox@gmail.com if interested!
If you would like to learn more about accessing ESCCA’s services, please contact your school health clerk.
District 65 is committed to helping all students reach their full potential and to provide opportunities that accelerate learning. Accelerated learning is available to all students; educators accelerate learning through grade-level differentiation, enrichment, and small group instruction. D65 also offers the possibility of alternate placement – which may grade skipping, single subject skipping or early entrance into grades K or 1st. You can find more information about acceleration here –> rmd.me/eTjf8v5feN9
Acceleration Night is coming! All District 65 families with students in kindergarten through 7th grade are invited to join us to learn more about opportunities for acceleration, and about the process for consideration of grade-skipping. Meeting date is 10/23 @ 6:00 pm on Zoom –> rmd.me/hry2h5BvxRk
The Lost & Found is getting full. Come by and check it for any missing items. Please label student belongings to make it easier to reunite them with their owner.
Students in grades 4-5 at all District 65 schools will have the opportunity to participate in the following seasonal sports: flag football and cross country programs (fall); basketball (open to grades 1-5) and cheerleading (winter); and soccer, tennis, and track and field (spring). Parent/guardian volunteer coaches are needed for all D65/City of Evanston sports leagues. All coaching positions are unpaid and strictly volunteer based. For more information on registration and volunteering to coach, click here.
Let’s show our teachers & staff some love during October conferences by stocking the Staff Lounge with snacks and beverages! The plan is to have lots of food choices for them to grab for breakfast, lunch or after school while they are in-between conferences.
