Lead sustainability-focused initiatives (e.g., tree plantings, Earth Day cleanups) and help reduce waste/footprint across school events.
🎲 Community Engagement – Robin Linn, Ailie Ayers & Kathryn Jackson
Plan and run family community-building events throughout the year (Bingo, Winter Dance); manage volunteers, communications, and day-of logistics.
📚 Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) – (Open)
Shape inclusive programming and community initiatives (e.g., heritage month efforts, shared reading/“One Book” style projects), based on your interests.
👕 ESCAA – Lauren Martin
Serve as the point person for ESCAA donations—partner with Lost & Found on sorting/labeling, share donation guidelines, and coordinate drop-off runs throughout the year.
🎟 Fundraising – Amanda Hulse
Coordinate fundraising programs and partnerships (Dine-to-Donate, Spiritwear, and similar efforts), and support the overall fundraising calendar.
🌿 Garden Committee – Sylvia Kim Kilcullen (Open)
Oversee seasonal garden care, planting/maintenance plans, and student-friendly garden activities as opportunities arise.
🌍 International Night – Cecilie Broch Ryan
Organize International Night: coordinate participation/booths, volunteer needs, communications, and event flow.
📚 Little Library Steward – Tara Whitaker
Ensure both Little Libraries on Walker property remain fully stocked on an ongoing basis.
🧥 Lost & Found – Tara Whitaker
Keep Lost & Found organized and coordinate end-of-cycle handling of unclaimed items with ESCAA.
⚖️ PEP Representative (PTA Equity Project) – Liz Ribeiro (Open)
Represent Walker at district-level PEP touchpoints/meetings, share updates back to the exec committee and PTA community, and support PEP initiatives/events as scheduled.
🧺 Rummage Sale – PTA Exec Board
Manage the rummage sale end-to-end (collection, sorting/pricing, sale-day operations, and wrap-up) with volunteer coordination.
💐 Teacher Appreciation – Sarah Trulley
Plan appreciation moments/events (especially around parent-teacher conferences and Teacher Appreciation Week), coordinate volunteers, and organize optional contributions.
🎉 Walker Fest – Erin Ellison & Amanda Hulse
Lead Walker Fest planning: vendors/partners, activities, volunteer coordination, communications, and day-of execution.
📷 Yearbook – Darlena Simmons
Own the yearbook timeline: photo collection, page coordination, vendor deadlines, ordering, and distribution.
Roles marked (Open) have an opening now, an additional volunteer needed, or are chaired by a 5th grade parent who will be moving on to Chute next year!
