- Black Son Rising: This is a FREE 5-week program at Robert Crown for 3rd to 7th grade boys. The program is run by concerned Evanston dads of black children. For more information see the flyer linked here.

- Y.O.U. Provides great after school FREE programming for Walker students in 2nd-5th grade! Click here for more info.
- District 65 is looking for parents who want to participate in the District’s Superintendent Parent Advisory Group. Interested parents can apply by clicking here.
- My65: We are excited to share that My65, Foundation 65’s annual benefit event, is BACK. There’s no party like a My65 Party! Foundation 65’s annual benefit, My65 returns this October. The event is critical to our success, both as a significant source of fundraising revenue and as an opportunity to showcase District teachers, programs, and students who have benefitted from the support of a Foundation 65 grant. Join us at Palmhouse on Howard on October 6 from 7-10 pm. This will be a fun (and safe) way to reconnect as a community and celebrate public schools.
- Evanston Community Literacy Fest at ETHS: Saturday, September 17 @ 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM, The first annual E-Town Community Lit Fest is an event for the entire Evanston community to connect over literacy. Free YA and kids’ books will be provided, as well as food, raffle prizes, and fun activities. There will also be a DJ. Come join us for this fun event and celebrate literacy! - D65 Caregiver Council for Disability Inclusion Meeting Monday, October 3, 2022: Everyone is welcome to attend! Zoom Meeting Link. Spanish interpretation will be available. Click here for more info
- District 65 has launched Phase II of the Student Assignment project, and we will discuss TWI and program placement. WE NEED YOUR VOICE. WE WILL PRIORITIZE YOUR VOICE. Please consider attending one of the following sessions: 11/15/2022 7:00 PM Washington Auditorium & 11/29/2022 7:00 PM Bessie Rhodes Auditorium. - LGBTQ+ Family and Staff Sessions: The next staff and family sessions are coming up! These meetings are facilitated by Chicago Therapy Collective professionals and are designed to build community while providing a safe space to share stories, build community, learn from each other and receive support throughout the school year. - The League of Women Voters of Evanston will conduct a forum for candidates running for District 65 School Board in the upcoming April 4 Consolidated Election, and a forum for candidates for City Council, 9th Ward. Both forums will take place Saturday, March 18 at the Morton Civic Center in the Council Chambers. The school board candidate forum will start at 1:00 p.m. and the 9th Ward forum at 3:00 p.m.
- The public is invited to attend the forums and ask questions of the candidates. Suggested questions may be e-mailed in advance to lwvevanston@gmail.com. The moderators will be from outside the boundaries of the contested races. Candidates for three 4-year seats on the D65 School Board are Mya Wilkins (I), John Martin, Ndona Muboyayi, Omar G. Salem, and Sergio Hernandez, Jr. (I). Candidates for the 9th Ward City Council seat are Kathy Hayes and Juan Geracaris. A video recording of the forum will be posted on the LWV-Evanston website at www.lwve.org from March 19 through Election Day, April 4th.
- Join us on 3/21 for our next Chat ‘n Chew! These gatherings are meant to be a time for the community to come together for informal conversation and refreshments. District leaders will be present to answer questions about the important initiatives underway in support of all D65 students; they also welcome your suggestions and feedback. On Tuesday, March 21, 2023, 5-6:30 p.m. Please note the Chat ‘n Chew originally scheduled for March 15 was canceled. We hope you will plan to join us on March 21 @ Jennifer’s Edibles: 1623 Simpson St., Evanston. Spanish interpretation will be provided. Refreshments will be served.
